Ingrid McGuire has served as a Director of the South Coast Water District for 15 years and is currently Chair of the Committee on Administration and Finance. Her focus is on fiscal responsibility, sewer spill prevention and the development of local water supplies, such as the new groundwater recovery facility.

Ingrid was a strong advocate for the formation of the City of Dana Point and was elected to the Charter City Council. In 2000, Ingrid served as Dana Point Mayor. During her six years on the Dana Point City Council, Ingrid was a key proponent of building financial reserves, beautifying parks and landscaped medians and establishing the Neighborhood Watch program.

Ingrid has taken an active part in the life of our community since moving to Dana Point in 1979. In addition to her public service, she has taken leadership roles in community organizations serving as past President of the Friends of the Dana Point Library, the Dana Point Women’s Club, and the Monarch Bay Terrace Property Owners’ Association.  She is currently active in Las Buenas Amigas, a South Orange County service organization. Ingrid came to the United States from Austria as a Fulbright Scholar earning her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Ohio State University and working in the field of chemical research.
